How this tool helps
Generate from 1,025 Pokémon that have an exact English name in the bundled dataset. Region, type, legendary category, evolution stage, fully evolved, and form filters apply to that exact-language pool; missing names never fall back to another language.

What is a random Pokémon generator?
Generate from 1,025 Pokémon that have an exact English name in the bundled dataset. Region, type, legendary category, evolution stage, fully evolved, and form filters apply to that exact-language pool; missing names never fall back to another language.

Writers
Use a random selection as characters or setting inspiration.
Families and educators
Explore names, regions, types, and evolution labels together.
What this release provides
1,025 exact English names
All 1,025 base Pokédex entries have an English display name in this release. Selection fails closed instead of substituting a name from another locale.
Six filters applied to the available pool
Combine region, type, legendary category, evolution stage, fully evolved, and form filters. A narrow combination can legitimately return no matching entry.
Remote PokéAPI artwork
Cards request the PokéAPI official-artwork file path from its public GitHub repository on demand. Load time and availability depend on the network; Pokémon assets belong to their rights holders and RandomHub is unaffiliated.
Practical ways to use the result
Filtered team prompt
Choose a region or type, request up to six, then use the returned sample as a draft prompt.
Set Region to Hoenn and Quantity to 6; a small matching pool can return fewer than six.
Drawing prompt
Generate one card and use its displayed name, types, and region as constraints.
Set Type to Ghost and Quantity to 1, then sketch the returned subject.
Story seed
Combine several randomly selected identities without assuming game balance or type uniqueness.
Choose a legendary category and generate three possible characters.
How to use it
- 1.
Choose the pool
Select all entries or narrow by region and type.
- 2.
Add classification filters
Choose a legendary category, evolution stage, or fully evolved status.
- 3.
Set form handling
Use Alternate Forms alone, or narrow it further to Mega or Gigantamax records.
- 4.
Generate 1–6 cards
The generator samples matching identities without duplicates. No-match combinations show an empty-result message.
